I was running an app from my CF card when the card got knocked out. Now when I put the card in I get a message that says "Unknown pccard adapter- enter the driver for this card", etc. I contacted the card manufacturer and they suggested reformating the card, but they did not have specific steps on how to do it on the BE. Every time I insert the card I get the same message and the card does not show up in the file manager for me to delete files, etc. Any suggestions?

I had this happen to me once. I installed a cf card from my digital camera when downloading some pics to my pc through my BE and got that message. I x'd it out and haven't seen it since.
I will see if I can locate some more data on this subject.

I x'd it out and it is still having the same prob. The card is under warranty. I think that I will get another from the maker.

Honestly, I don't think it's a CF card issue. I only have heard of this happening in the past month or so. My guess is that it's related to expod. What OS are you running? If you are using expod6.0 or higher, then I think the answer may lie there. Like I said, I never heard of this happening until recently. There have been several users reporting similar problems since they started using the latest release of expod.

Yeah, I'm running expod 6.1, but I installed it hoping that the problem would be solved. The prob started when I was running KCII. Imight try a new card and see what happens. If the card runs fine then my card is bad, if the same prob happens with another card then the software on my BE is bad. I'll let you know what happens.

i don't know if KCII can run from CF. IS that what you tried? Eldorado on BE-central posted an answer to this issue sometime in the last 7-8 days. there is a pgm over at expod that is supposed to allow you to format your CF from your BE. check there. if time allows I'll find the link and post it later.

No, I wasn't running KCII from the card. KCII was the OS that I was running on the BE. Just before the card started having probs the BE gave me a message that it was restarting due to an OS prob. So, I did a factory restore and the card had the same prob. I reinstalled KCII and I still had the same prob. I ran several factory restoers- still same prob and then installed expod 6.1 and- you guessed it- same prob. This makes me think that it is a card prob. The card has a lifetime warranty so I returned it. I should have the new card in a few days. I will try the new card and post what happens.

BTW: KCII is an application that runs over the existing OS and not an OS of it's own. I used it for awhile and would have kept on doing so if not for Xpod. It is supposed to work in Xpod as well, but with the skinners now in place it seems redundant.

Thanks for the link. I'll let you know how it works- hopefully it can be a help to others who see it on the forums and need the same help.

I also want to add that I was very happy to see you, Starkindler, as a moderator on this new forum. ;D ;D I have posted several questions on BE Central and you have given me great help with those. I look forward to some great conversations- hopefully they all won't be me asking for help and you giving it.

I, thankfully, have not had this issue yet. It seems to me to be either linked to something in the new Expod release (an unknown bug) or with the BE itself. My card does get warm after a long file transfer (I noticed it the other day) and today I did get the WSOD on power up. Thankfully reset cleared the problem. I am using the pc card update from Casio: casio.monacocorp.co.nz/cassiopeia/software/softupgrade.htmI got and installed it from Casio almost right out of the box. I also remember seeing a discussion somewhere about which CF cards work best with the BE....I'll look for it and post it if I can.

I addad a question to the thread above asking about the problem being connected to the nes xpod release since I am using 5.1 and have no issues....we'll see.

I looked for the update at casio and didn't see a specific pc card update. Is it the same as the BE 300 update 1.00? Or is it something different?
