This is Goofather's recommended method to installing any version of eXpod:
How to install eXpod
1. Make sure you are using the most recent version of PC Connect, 1.00.04.
2. Make a backup of your current image with all your stuff (In case something goes wrong)
3. Hold "OK" and press the reset with your stylus on the left side of your BE - Safe Mode
4. Restore factory defaults (For good measure)
5. Once it is done, let your BE boot up
6. Hit the reset on the left side of your BE. When your BE reboots, power down and power back up one time.
7. Hold "OK" and press the reset with your stylus on the left side of your BE - Safe Mode
8. Restore the XPod image
9. Once it is done, let your BE boot up
10. Hit the reset on the left side of your BE. When your BE reboots, power down and power back up one time.
11. It is now ready to do whatever you want. Re-sync your PIM data, play, look, etc.....
Warnings and notes:
1. If your are running the CE.net upgrade or have installed the CE.net upgrade, you will probably have problems with eXpod.
2. Don't play with Mem Adjust. It is only for stubborn programs that need to be fooled that extra memory is available. If you do use it, after you are done running the stubborn program press the reset button on the left side of your BE before continuing normal use.
3. Do not copy things to \Nand Disk\Program Files\Patch. Copy them to \Nand Disk\Program Files\SystemCE. Only copy to patch if what you want to work won't work with it being in the \Nand Disk\Program Files\SystemCE folder.
4. DO NOT IMPORT AN ENTIRE REGISTRY, especially from previous versions of EpodXX. Only import registry keys that are needed by a program to run or simply reinstall the program.
5. Don't take all the installs on the EpodMX website and install them to Main Memory. You will have problems!
Possible reasons for mis-install:
1. CE.net upgrade or not?
2. Did you follow all the above procedures?
3. What have you installed since the installation of XPod and where have you installed it (Main or Storage Card)?
4. What version of PC Connect are you using?
5. What version of Windows are you running?
6. Did you load ms-boss?
