Sometimes your BE300 may get hung and, when reset, all you will get is "Starting" or just a blank White or Grey screen. No OS, no nothing. When that happens, your BE300 is hung hard and needs to be reloaded. Here's how to do it.
1. Hold the power button down and insert your stylus into the reset hole. 2. Then you will see "Starting.." come up on the screen, the screen will go black after a moment, as soon as it goes black hold the "OK button down. It should allow you to restore then. 3. Be sure to restore factory defaults before restoring XPod. (or whatever OS you're using- this appears to be a succinct explanation of how to enter safe mode on the BE and from there be able to reload your BE. Heed the warning to restore factory defaults first. Vram knows his stuff.-added by SK*-MOD)

The installation of expod (or other OS choice) generally assumes a "clean" enviornment to move into. Factory Restore sets the BE to out of the box condition and ensures the best possible chances for your "addition" to properly work.
